Apple is developing a new external monitor, according to the latest report. What makes this particularly interesting is that it will be equipped with its own built-in A13 Bionic chip.
The chip, reports 9to5Mac (based on "sources familiar with the matter"), will feature a Neural Engine and enable the device to be used as an external GPU.
In 2016, there were rumours that Apple was working on a new version of its Thunderbolt screen with a built-in graphics card. But such a device has not been released - so far.
The new screen (which 9to5Mac says is codenamed J327) could be a replacement for Apple's Pro Display XDR screen, which does not have an internal GPU. There is also information that Apple is working on another external monitor with a lower price than the Pro Display XDR.
