Best iPad deals of June 2021

Discouraged by the high prices of Apple's tablets? Don't despair: if you know where to look - and we do - there are great deals to be had on the newest iPads (including the iPad Pro models launched in April 2021), and superb ones on older models.

Our tech experts, who continually scan the market for the very latest and best iPad deals, have found the best prices for each of the five current iPad models, and for several older models which have been officially discontinued. For each one you'll find an automatically updated price comparison tool, so you can be sure you're getting the best deal at this exact second, and our personal pick of the best options.

As a general rule you can find good savings on iPads at Amazon, John Lewis and Currys PC World. But if you're looking for the best pricing on each model of iPad, read on for our experts' handpicked deals.

Amazon Prime Day

Handy tip for iPad buyers: we now know that Amazon will hold its Prime Day sale on 21-22 June 2021. (It lasts 48 hours, rather than one day.) Prime Day usually has decent discounts on a range of Apple products, potentially including iPads, and it may be worth postponing your purchase until then - but there is no guarantee that the Prime deals will be better than the ones currently on offer from a variety of retailers.

Assuming you want to buy now, you'll find our pick of the five top iPad deals below, and then the lowest current prices on each iPad model below that.

Best iPad 10.2in deals

Best iPad deals: iPad 10.2in (2019)

iPad 10.2in (2020)

The 8th-gen iPad from September 2020 offers a powerful A12 Bionic processor and supports Apple's Neural Engine AI and machine learning software. Read our iPad 10.2in (2020) review for more information.

It's the most affordable iPad on the market, priced as follows:

UK RRP: From £329
US MSRP: From $329
AU RRP: From AU$499

You can buy it direct from Apple, and trading in your old iPad will lower the price even further. If you're a student, parent, teacher or other staff member at an educational institution, you can also get a 10% discount from Apple's Education Store.

You'll see from the auto price widget below that Amazon is offering a handy £19 saving. However, you can go lower still with Costco, which is offering a £21 discount.

iPad 10.2in (2019)

It's been officially discontinued, but you may still be able to buy Apple's old entry-level iPad, the iPad 10.2in (2019). In fact you may even get a nice deal on the iPad 9.7in (2018), whose specs are practically identical to the 2019 model, bar the screen size.

Apple sometimes has these in stock at the Refurbished store. If you're interested in refurbished units, also check out MusicMagpie where you can find low-priced options, and of course eBay (check your seller's credentials and ratings). Look for a price well under £300 and check how much you're actually saving compared to the newer models.

Best iPad mini deals

Best iPad mini deals: iPad mini (2019)

iPad mini (2019)

At 7.9in this form factor is still desirable and useful even in an age of larger smartphones. With the A12 processor at an affordable base price, Apple's smallest tablet is a tiny powerhouse of a computer.

With the addition of Apple Pencil support and with decent battery life, Apple breathed new life into the iPad mini with the 2019 model. Not everyone wants or needs to spend £1,000 or more on an iPad Pro. Read our iPad mini (2019) review for more information.

UK RRP: From £399
US MSRP: From $399
AU RRP: From AU$599

Apple charges £399 for the entry-level mini, but you can do better than that. Currys has the lowest current price at just £349, matched by John Lewis and Amazon.

Best iPad Air deals

Best iPad Air deals: iPad Air (2020)

iPad Air (2020)

Apple released a new iPad Air in October 2020. It takes the iPad Pro all-screen design (although, unusually, it offers Touch ID fingerprint recognition instead of Face ID facial recognition: the sensor is hidden in the power button) and also supports the second-gen version of the Apple Pencil. It's a sumptuous, high-spec tablet.

Read our iPad Air (2020) review for in-depth buying advice.

Here are the official prices:

UK RRP: From £579
US MSRP: From $599
AU RRP: From AU$899

You can beat Apple's £579 price tag by shopping elsewhere. The retailers, as often happens, have all matched each other's deals, so you'll be spending £549 (£30 off) whether you go to Currys, AO, John Lewis or Amazon.

Best iPad Pro deals

Best iPad Pro deals: 2021 iPad Pro

Apple updated both of its iPad Pro models - 11in and 12.9in - in April 2021. They look the same as the 2020 and 2018 models, but there are some important enhancements on the inside.

They've been upgraded with the fast and power-efficient M1 processors that were so popular in the Mac range; they now support 5G (in the cellular versions); the front-facing camera array has been bumped from 7MP to 12MP, and now offers a new ultra-wide lens and a feature called Centre Stage which automatically keeps you in shot on video calls.

There's also an upgrade to the display, although this only applies to the costlier 12.9in model. The Liquid Retina XDR display is backlit by a huge number of mini-LEDs for subtle localised dimming, and offers a whopping 1,600 nits of peak brightness in HDR and a million-to-one contrast ratio.

iPad Pro 11in (M1, 2021) deals

UK RRP: From £749
US MSRP: From $799
AU RRP: From AU$1,199

The 2021 iPad Pro models went on sale in May, but you may find that some retailers have run out of stock; the premium tablets have proved popular.

You can obviously buy on Apple's website for the RRP (which starts at £749). But price-wise Amazon looks to be your best bet right now: it has the 11in model for £729.97 (£19 off), on the silver model at least.

KRCS is always a handy choice for new Apple products, since it seems able to squeeze out a small discount when everyone else is sticking to the RRP. The site has the 11in model for £734.02 (£15 off). But right now it's slightly less appealing than Amazon.

iPad Pro 12.9in (M1, 2021) deals

UK RRP: From £999
US MSRP: From $1,099
AU RRP: From AU$1,649

The 12.9in iPad Pro (2021) is available to buy from Apple for the RRP, which starts at £999. But we can find lower prices elsewhere.

As on the 11in model, KRCS is a dependable choice if you want a small discount on a new product. The site has the 2021 12.9in model for £979.01 (£20 off).

Again, however, Amazon undercuts KRCS on one of the colour finishes: it has the silver version of the 12.9in Pro for £959.97 (£39 off). That's your best price right now - but if you insist on the Space Grey version, stick with KRCS.

iPad Pro 11in (2020) deals

UK RRP (when it launched): From £769
US MSRP (when it launched): From $799
AU RRP (when it launched): From AU$1,329

Apple no longer sells the 2020 Pro models but you should be able to find them at other retailers for a while - just make sure you're paying a lot less than the RRP listed above.

iPad Pro 12.9in (2020) deals

UK RRP (when it launched): From £969
US MSRP (when it launched): From $999
AU RRP (when it launched): From AU$1,649

Again, this device (which you can read about in our iPad Pro 12.9in 2020 review) is no longer available direct from Apple, but you should be able to find a chunky saving elsewhere, if you can live without the latest features. Read iPad Pro 2021 vs iPad Pro 2020 for an explanation of the differences.

John Lewis is offering a discount of £149. The widget below has up-to-the-minute pricing from a wide range of retailers.

Apple Refurbished Store

One of our favourite hunting grounds for a tasty iPad deal is the Apple Refurbished Store, where you'll find iPads with huge discounts. These are items that have been returned, but in most respects you wouldn't be able to tell.

Apple replaces the battery and outer shell of every refurbished iPad, and you'll still get all of the accessories and manuals that would come with a new model. Plus, you'll also get the same one-year warranty as you would with a brand-new iPad.

The only thing that gives the game away is the box - Apple replaces the original with a white box to prevent people from buying the discounted models and selling them as new.

Best iPad Student Deals

Don't forget students can get discounts on iPad devices as a part of Apple's Education Discount.

That concludes our guide to the best iPad deals available right now. But if you're unsure of which model you should pick up, take a look at our in-depth iPad buying guide.
