Apple is going to be boring this summer

WWDC 2021 came with a big bang, with Apple revealing details of all important innovations for iOS 15, iPadOS 15, watchOS 8 and macOS Monterey, but now we are waiting for the next big announcement. Unfortunately the next few months are looking quite boring.

Apple seems set to wrap itself in mysterious silence in the near future, until the special events start again in the autumn.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, who is generally quite accurate in his forecasts according, is sure that Apple will save its next batch of product announcements for the autumn.

"For Apple, all attention is on the fall, so the next several weeks are destined to be light on product news. We’re about three months away from the next iPhone and Apple Watch models going on sale—along with the releases of iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and watchOS 8, so stay tuned for plenty of news on those after the summer doldrums" Gurman states in his Power On newsletter.

On this basis we can expect the next big Apple news not to come until after the summer holidays.

However, we do not give up hope quite so quickly, after all, Apple seemed to cancel the introduction of the M1X MacBook Pro at the last minute, so maybe we will still see the new Pro models in the next few months.
