If you're thinking about buying the new 24in iMac, it may be of interest to take a look at the latest results from the speed-testing suite Geekbench 5.
According to the latest benchmark scores, the new machine is up to 56% faster than the old top model of 21.5in iMac. It scored 1,729 points in the single-core test and 7,459 in multi-core, compared to 1,109 and 6,014 points respectively for the old model.
Compared to the 27in iMac, the new M1 model is 38% faster if a single core is used, but 25% slower if several are used. The latter differential explains why the 27in can still be ordered from the Apple Store, reports MacRumors.
Deliveries of the new M1-equipped iMac will begin next week, but if you order now, be prepared for a long wait. Check our guide to the best M1 iMac deals for the lowest prices available.
