New iMac, iPad Pro, Apple TV 'will launch on 21 May'

When Apple unveiled new products at its 20 April event, the company was in an uncharacteristically vague mood. It gave a precise release date for the AirTag and purple iPhone 12 (30 April, today), but would only say that the new iPad Pro, iMac and Apple TV 4K would be released in the "second half of May".

Now 9to5Mac reports that several sources claim to have an exact date. Jon Prosser, who in the past has often been right about this type of information, is among several leakers who say that the launch will take place on 21 May.

That date can also be seen in the HTML code of a press release sent out by Apple in the UK on Thursday. This might be entirely dependable, however: the code is clearly at least partially out of date, because it says the AirTag and purple iPhone 12 will also launch on the same day.

John Lewis previously stated that the new iMac would be "available 21 May" but has now changed this to "not in stock".

The products in question go on pre-order today.
