More clues that Apple TV is getting a new remote

Apple is currently developing a new remote control that will replace the Siri Remote when the next model of Apple TV is released, according to 9to5Mac.

The site's sources claim that the new remote has the internal designation B519. The previous model has the code name B439.

The Siri Remote was launched in 2015 alongside what is now referred to as the Apple TV HD. It received a small upgrade with a white ring around the home button when the Apple TV 4K was released, but otherwise looks the same.

The remote has received a lot of criticism over the years, among other things for being easy to lose and for the lack of physical navigation buttons. Last week we reported on claims that the next Apple TV would feature a remote that can be tracked using the Find My app.
