iPhone 13 could be sold in orange and matt-black finishes

According to the well-known technology leaker Max Weinbach, this year's new iPhone models will include one new colour finish, and may even include two.

Weinbach says the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max will be sold in a matt-black finish, in addition to the silver, gold, graphite and blue options offered with the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. Apple offered a matt-black version of the iPhone 7 back in 2016, alongside a glossier Jet Black finish, but the latter doesn't appear to be on the table this time.

What is on the table is an entirely new orangey bronze colour finish, which Weinbach says Apple is currently experimenting with and may also offer. However, he thinks this option is less likely to make the launch than the matt black, reports MacRumors.

Furthermore, there is also discussion of a new protective coating which will mean fingerprints are not as visible as on today's models. In other respects, noise reduction is said to be better than on the iPhone 12, while the rear-facing camera should not protrude as far from the chassis of the phone.

The new models will probably be launched near the end of September, and you should expect the rumours to come thick and fast between now and then.
